BJP Government Suspends Kashmiri Muslim Employee in Baramulla

Srinagar: The BJP-led Indian government has suspended Arif Mohammad Khan, a lecturer in Environmental Science, raising concerns about perceived targeted actions in Baramulla district of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the School Education Department, on orders from the BJP regime, cited unfounded charges in the suspension order. This action is seen as part of an ongoing pattern since the BJP enacted administrative changes in August 2019. Critics describe these actions as indicative of a colonial mindset intended to marginalize Muslim employees and install supporters of Hindutva ideologies. The increasing frequency of suspensions and dismissals of Muslim government workers has sparked fears about undermining local Muslim representation in the region.
