Bhopal, The newly formed BJP government in Madhya Pradesh has introduced a directive banning the use of loudspeakers at religious sites and the open sale of meat and fish in the state. These measures are part of a series of actions taken by the BJP, interpreted as anti-Muslim by some.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the directive was issued by Mohan Yadav, the newly appointed Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh. Yadav, who is a BJP MLA from Ujjain South, was sworn in as Chief Minister this Wednesday. His oath-taking ceremony, officiated by Governor Mangubhai Patel, was held at Bhopal’s Lal Parade Ground.
Following his inauguration, Chief Minister Yadav announced a series of measures, including the restriction on the use of loudspeakers at religious sites across the state. Additionally, he outlined a campaign to ban the open sale of meat and fish, which is set to be enforced from December 15 to 31. This campaign will involve the food department, police, and local urban bodies in its implementation.
These decisions by the BJP government have sparked discussions and debates, reflecting the complex interplay of religion, politics, and social norms in the region.
