Islamabad: Senator Rubina Khalid, Chairperson of the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP), met with leaders from the National Lobbying Delegation for Minority Rights today, reiterating the program’s dedication to supporting marginalized communities without regard to religious affiliation.
According to Press Information Department, during the discussions at BISP Headquarters, Senator Khalid emphasized the absence of a registration fee for the program and highlighted the ongoing nature of the registration process through BISP Dynamic Registry Centers. She also warned the delegation against fraudulent schemes, noting that official communications come exclusively from BISP’s designated number, 8171.
The meeting also addressed the specific concerns of minority communities in remote areas, with the delegation urging better coordination to facilitate their access to BISP benefits. In response, Senator Khalid assured full cooperation and directed her staff to take proactive steps to ensure these communities’ inclusion in the program.
