BISP Leadership Seeks Operational Enhancements to Boost Program Impact

Islamabad: Chairperson Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP), Senator Rubina Khalid, met with Federal Minister for Poverty Alleviation and Social Safety, Syed Imran Ahmed Shah, to discuss potential improvements in field operations aimed at increasing the outreach and efficacy of the program.

The meeting focused on the urgent need to fill vacant field positions to maintain uninterrupted service delivery and tackle issues at the grassroots level. Both parties stressed the importance of efficient staffing to support the program’s objectives.

Federal Minister Shah advised Chairperson Khalid to visit Sahiwal, Pakpattan, Okara, and neighboring districts. The purpose of these visits would be to observe field activities firsthand and engage directly with both staff and beneficiaries. He expressed satisfaction with the operational efficiency observed during his recent visit to the BISP office in Kasur.

Chairperson Khalid highlighted the organization’s ongoing efforts to support beneficiaries through initiatives like the Benazir Hunarmand Programme. This program aims to provide beneficiaries, particularly women, with technical skills that meet global labor market needs, promoting economic independence and sustainability.

The meeting concluded with a mutual commitment to expanding BISP’s scope and impact, emphasizing transparent, efficient, and inclusive support for society’s most vulnerable.
