BISP Introduces WhatsApp Channel to Enhance Public Access to Information

Islamabad, The Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) has taken a significant step forward in enhancing its communication with the public by launching a dedicated WhatsApp channel. This innovative move aims to provide updates on all BISP initiatives directly to the masses and combat the spread of misinformation.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the launch of this WhatsApp channel is part of BISP’s efforts to ensure that both existing and potential beneficiaries have access to reliable information about the programme’s various schemes. This initiative also seeks to counter fake messages and provide a trusted source of information for the public.

This development follows the earlier establishment of a modern call center by BISP in collaboration with the National Telecommunication Corporation. The call center was designed to offer authentic information related to BISP’s programmes and to promptly address any grievances beneficiaries might have.

By utilizing WhatsApp, a widely used messaging platform, BISP aims to reach a broader audience, ensuring that information about its initiatives is readily accessible. This approach not only streamlines communication with beneficiaries but also reinforces BISP’s commitment to transparency and service delivery.
