Islamabad, The Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) has launched a new savings scheme, aiming to significantly impact the poverty landscape in Pakistan, announced BISP Chairperson Dr. Amjad Saqib. The announcement was made at the scheme’s launching ceremony in Islamabad today.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Dr. Saqib highlighted that the BISP Saving Scheme is designed to encourage savings among its beneficiaries. Initially, approximately 150,000 people will be selected to participate in the scheme on a first-come, first-serve basis. The chairperson also indicated that the scope of this initiative is expected to expand in the future.
