BISP Collaborates with Bureau of Emigration to Boost Overseas Employment for Beneficiaries

Islamabad: In a significant move to provide overseas employment opportunities, the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) and the Bureau of Emigration and Overseas Employment have announced a collaboration. This initiative aims to equip BISP beneficiaries or their family members with the skills needed to secure employment abroad. Senator Rubina Khalid, Chairperson of BISP, emphasized the initiative’s role in launching a poverty graduation program that will prepare beneficiaries for the global job market.

According to Press Information Department, the meeting between Senator Khalid and Muhammad Tayyab, Director General of the Bureau, focused on developing a strategy to provide quality skill training in demand-driven trades. This training will include fundamental English, basic manners, hygiene, and work ethics, ensuring that BISP trainees are well-prepared for employment opportunities overseas.

Muhammad Tayyab highlighted the Bureau’s commitment to assist BISP in identifying suitable trades and facilitating training through internationally recognized institutes in Pakistan. The target trades include positions such as home care workers, hospitality staff, receptionists, and nurses, particularly in countries with high demand for these skills.

To further this collaboration, Senator Khalid has directed BISP officials to organize another meeting with representatives from the Bureau of Emigration and Overseas Employment and the National Vocational and Technical Training Commission (NAVTTC) to discuss details, share data, and finalize a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).

This alliance marks a pivotal step in providing sustainable employment opportunities for BISP beneficiaries, enabling them to build better futures for themselves and their families.
