Islamabad, Chairperson of the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP), Ms. Rubina Khalid, has called for heightened dignity and empowerment for needy women, emphasizing enhanced accountability and efficiency in the delivery of services to BISP beneficiaries. In her first meeting with senior management and officers at BISP headquarters, Chairperson Khalid outlined her comprehensive plan to improve the program’s operations and direct support mechanisms.

According to Press Information Department, Ms. Khalid stressed the importance of integrity within the organization, warning that any mismanagement would meet with strict action. She plans to personally visit field offices to ensure her directives are implemented effectively and to observe program operations firsthand. The Chairperson’s approach includes minimizing human intervention by setting up bank accounts for beneficiaries to access their funds directly, enhancing transparency. Moreover, she underscored the critical role of vocational and technical training for the children of beneficiaries, aiming to uplift them from poverty through sustainable employment opportunities.
