ISLAMABAD, Dr. Muhammad Amjad Saqib, Chairperson of the Benazir Income Support Program (BISP), has called on BISP employees to demonstrate dedication and empathy in serving the poor, aiming to establish BISP as a leading organization in Pakistan.
According to the Press Information Department, while addressing BISP staff at Jamia Islamia Haq Town in Okara, Dr. Saqib emphasized the importance of donations for the welfare of the needy and the program’s commitment to transparency and social responsibility. The gathering included BISP employees from Okara, Pakpatan, and Sahiwal.
Dr. Saqib highlighted the authenticity and transparency of the BISP’s National Socio-Economic Registry (NSER), which provides financial assistance to 9.3 million needy families every three months. He underscored the significant role of mosques in society, not only as places of worship but also as influential centers for promoting ethical values and fostering social cohesion.
During his visit to the BISP office in Okara, Dr. Saqib urged staff to prioritize the needs of elderly women and instructed them to maintain cleanliness in BISP offices, envisioning them as exemplars of efficiency and service delivery. He also called for immediate action and resolution of complaints regarding deductions from the stipends of deserving women, emphasizing the need for transparency in the disbursement of payments in the upcoming Kafaalat Tranche.
Dr. Saqib’s directives reflect a strong commitment to improving the efficiency and impact of BISP, ensuring that it remains a pillar of support for the most vulnerable segments of Pakistani society.
