BISP and UNICEF Forge Partnership to Boost Health and Nutrition for Women and Children in Pakistan

Islamabad, The Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) and UNICEF have announced a new partnership aimed at improving the health and nutrition of women and children in Pakistan. This collaboration marks a significant step forward in addressing malnutrition and health issues that affect some of the most vulnerable populations in the country.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the agreement was reached during a meeting between BISP Chairperson Rubina Khalid and UNICEF Country Representative Abdullah Fadil in Islamabad. The partnership will focus on enhancing BISP’s Nashonuma Programme, which targets malnutrition among women and children, a critical issue in Pakistan.

During the discussions, Chairperson Khalid emphasized the importance of the Nashonuma Programme and her commitment to increasing its awareness and reach. UNICEF’s Fadil lauded BISP’s efforts and the effectiveness of its programs, expressing optimism about the potential impact of this strengthened collaboration.

This initiative is expected to leverage the strengths of both organizations to foster healthier futures for Pakistani women and children through improved nutritional support and health care interventions.
