Bilal Siddiqui condemns victimization of IIOJK political prisoners

Srinagar, June 17, 2021 (PPI-OT):In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, APHC leader and the Chairman of Tehreek-e-Muzahamat, Bilal Ahmed Siddiqui, has said that Kashmiri political prisoners are being subjected to the worst political vendetta and victimization.

Bilal Ahmed Siddiqui in a statement issued in Srinagar termed the reports coming out from different jails of IIOJK and India as worrying and disturbing. He said, Dr Muhammad Qasim Fakhtoo, who is languishing in Udhampur Jail in Jammu and suffering from various ailments is being denied all basic facilities including medical care and with utter disregard to the prisoner’s rights has been put in solitary confinement in a small dingy cell where he is losing his vision rapidly. He said this is same way, the Indian authorities treated senior APHC leader, Shaheed Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai, in the same prison until he reached to a point of no return because of sheer medical negligence and victimization and died in custody. Same is the condition of hundreds of other prisoners languishing in various jails in and outside Kashmir, he added.

Bilal Siddiqui said that Hurriyat leaders and activists including Muhammad Yasin Malik, Shabbir Ahmed Shah, Masarrat Aalam But, Aasiya Andrabi, Nayeem Ahmed Khan, Altaf Ahmed Shah, Raja Meraaj-ud-Din, Peer Saifullah, Farooq Ahmed Dar, Ghulam Muhammad Butt, Sheikh Nazir Ahmed, Dr Muhammad Shafi Khan, Ghulam Qadir Butt, Muhammad Ayub Mir, Mehmood Topi Wala, Naheeda Nasreen, Fehmeeda Sofi, and scores of others who have been booked in fabricated cases for being at the forefront against illegal Indian occupation are all in grave danger as they have been suffering from life threatening ailments and are being denied medical treatment and in a systematic manner pushed to silent death inside the prisons.

The APHC leader said, this brutal attitude of the Indian authorities reflects their colonial and imperialist mindset which deserves strong condemnation from all those who claim to stand for political and human rights of people across the globe. He added that this worrying and disturbing situation warrants immediate intervention from the world human rights bodies like International Committee of Red Cross, Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch and UN Human Rights Council and they must impress upon India to stop killing the Kashmiri political prisoners inside jails through this worst kind of political vendetta.
