Bengaluru: Muslim students from Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir at Sri Soubhagya College of Nursing in Bengaluru have alleged that the college administration is denying them the opportunity to offer Friday prayers.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the students assert that their repeated requests for facilities to fulfill their religious obligations have not been acknowledged, leading to significant distress.

The students argue that the college’s refusal contravenes Article 25 of the Indian Constitution, which ensures the right to freely practice one’s religion. They contend that their education should not come at the expense of their religious beliefs or identity, and have characterized the college’s position as discriminatory and a threat to religious freedom.

In response, the students have appealed to Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah to intervene and implement policies that accommodate religious practices within educational settings. They also urged IIOJK Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to address the issue with the Karnataka government, emphasizing the emotional and spiritual impact of the college’s decision.
