Beneficiaries to get additional amount under Indexation Policy approved by ECC

Islamabad, June 21, 2021 (PPI-OT): Economic Coordination Committee has approved Indexation Policy for Cash Transfer and allowed BISP to adopt the institutional mechanism for periodic update of regular cash transfer benefits to Ehsaas Kafalat beneficiaries. The approval was given in ECC meeting with Minister for Finance and Revenue, Shaukat Tarin, in the chair held in Islamabad today (Monday). The beneficiaries will receive an additional cash of 166 rupees per month due to indexation with effect from 1st of January next year. The mechanism shall consist of a Committee which will be chaired by Secretary Finance Division.

ECC also approved the additional funds requirement of Rs. 75 million of Ministry of Housing and Works in respect of three development schemes. Technical Supplementary Grant amounting to Rs. 43 million in favour of Ministry of Housing and Works was also approved. The ECC in its meeting allowed Information and Broadcasting Division for re-appropriation of PSDP funds of 17.633 million rupees through Technical Supplementary Grant. The ECC also approved millions of supplementary grants for different departments.
