Benazir Income Support Programme to Reach 10 Million Families, Increase Installments to Rs. 13,500


Islamabad: Chairperson of the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP), Senator Rubina Khalid, announced that the number of families benefiting from BISP will reach 10 million by the end of this year. Additionally, the quarterly installment of the Benazir Kafaalat will be increased to 13,500 rupees starting January 2025.



According to Press Information Department, Senator Khalid expressed gratitude towards Prime Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif for increasing the financial budget of BISP. This budget enhancement will support the installment increase. She shared these remarks while addressing media representatives at the BISP zonal office in Gilgit. Senator Khalid also noted that the registration of deserving families through Dynamic Registration Centers across the country is ongoing, along with the re-certification of already registered households to evaluate their socio-economic conditions. The chairperson highlighted the upcoming launch of the Benazir Skill Training Program, aimed at improving the quality of life and economic empowerment of deserving women and their families. This initiative will provide skills training to meet local and international standards, facilitating access to employment opportunities. Additionally, she emphasized that BISP provides crucial financial support to help families meet their daily needs, r
eflecting the vision of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto and implemented during the presidency of Asif Ali Zardari. Financial aid under BISP is directed to the female members of families, enhancing recognition and economic empowerment for women in Pakistan. Senator Khalid also discussed other initiatives, including the Benazir Taleemi Wazaif and Benazir Nashonuma programs, which offer educational scholarships and nutritional support to combat stunting among children. During her visit, she interacted with women beneficiaries, addressed their concerns, and participated in a tree-planting drive at the BISP office in Gilgit.
