Islamabad: Chairperson of the Benazir Income Support Program (BISP), Rubina Khalid, outlined new initiatives aimed at providing employment opportunities through skill development for vulnerable segments of society. During a press conference held in Lahore today, Khalid discussed the program’s strategies to foster economic empowerment among its beneficiaries.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the BISP is actively expanding its services, including enhancing the banking network from one to six banks to facilitate smoother transactions for beneficiaries. The Chairperson emphasized the program’s commitment to maintaining the dignity of recipients during the disbursal process. With over 9.3 million individuals currently benefiting from the BISP, efforts are underway to increase accessibility and efficiency, including a helpline (8171) designed to address beneficiary complaints and provide guidance.
