Behal mocks Indian law minister’s ‘doors of justice open’ statement

Jammu, April 10, 2023 (PPI-OT):All Parties Hurriyat Conference Leader Advocate Divender Singh Behal has mocked Indian Law Minister Kiren Rijiju’s “doors of justice are open to all without discrimination” statement saying that rule of law non-existent in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir where people are arrested for showing dissent and lodged in Indian jails without trials for years. Advocate Behal said that the statement of the law minister is a plethora of lies and distortion of facts about Indian Illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir where people are struggling for the right to self-determination guaranteed by the United Nations.

He further said that in IIOJK, rule of law is non-existent and people are arrested for showing dissent and lodged in different jails of India for years without trial and recourse to justice. The concept of fair and speedy trial is a distinct dream for illegally detained Kashmiris. These detainees, he added, are neither presented before courts nor provided any kind of legal assistance by the occupation authorities. He further added that despite tall claims of the Indian law minister, the rape victims of Kunun Pospora are awaiting justice for the last three decades.

Advocate Divender Singh appealed to the international community to pressurize India to start a free, fair and speedy trial of those political detainees who are languishing in different jails for years without trial for the offences which they never committed.
