Baramulla Residents Protest for Immediate Water Supply Restoration

Srinagar: Kreeri-Wagoora residents in the Baramulla district of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir have blocked roads, escalating their demand for immediate water supply restoration.

According to Kashmir Media Service, The community’s protest has led to a complete shutdown of the Wagoora market as locals voice their frustration with the ongoing water crisis. The area has faced a significant water shortage for the past 10-15 days, and despite the urgent need, there has been no intervention from the Public Health Engineering (PHE) Department. No official has yet visited the area to address the grievances or provide updates on efforts to restore the water supply.

The residents have issued a stern warning, suggesting that the situation could further escalate if their demands are not met soon. The ongoing crisis not only highlights issues of governmental negligence but also raises serious human rights concerns, emphasizing the need for effective and accountable water resource management to protect the basic rights and welfare of the community.
