Bangladeshi Academic Delegation Completes Collaborative Visit to Pakistan


Islamabad: A high-level academic delegation from Bangladesh has successfully concluded its week-long visit to Pakistan, focusing on enhancing academic cooperation and fostering collaboration between higher education institutions in the two countries.



According to Higher Education Commission of Pakistan, the delegation visited several institutions, including Khyber Medical University, Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital and Research Centre, University of Engineering and Technology, and the Institute of Management Sciences, all located in Peshawar. In Islamabad, the delegation engaged in detailed discussions with the leadership and faculty of the National University of Technology on potential academic partnerships. On the final day, the delegation visited Kohsar University in Murree and later traveled to Nathia Gali to experience Pakistan’s natural beauty.



Earlier in the visit, the delegates toured Liaquat University of Medical and Health Sciences in Jamshoro, as well as Iqra University, NED University of Engineering and Technology, the Institute of Business Administration, and the HEJ International Centre for Chemical and Biological Sciences in Karachi. Meetings were also held with key officials, including the Minister of State for Federal Education and Professional Training and the Speaker of the National Assembly. The delegation explored the functions of the Higher Education Commission (HEC) and met with its Chairman and senior officers.



The visit featured extensive academic engagements, including discussions on faculty exchange initiatives, student mobility programs, semester exchange opportunities, bilateral scholarships, collaborative research projects, and joint academic conferences and seminars. Participants from both countries acknowledged the value of these exchanges in identifying mutually beneficial areas of cooperation and enhancing institutional linkages.



Both Pakistani and Bangladeshi participants expressed satisfaction with the discussions and reaffirmed their commitment to translating these engagements into collaborative initiatives. They emphasized the importance of continuing academic exchanges and institutional visits to strengthen educational ties and deepen relations between Pakistan and Bangladesh. The conclusion of the visit saw both sides optimistic about future partnerships and a shared vision for advancing higher education cooperation in the region.
