Bangladesh Armed Forces Officer Meets Naval Chief to Bolster Ties

Islamabad: A high-level meeting took place at the Naval Headquarters in Islamabad on January 17, involving the Principal Staff Officer of the Armed Forces Division of Bangladesh, Lieutenant General SM Kamrul Hassan, and the Chief of the Naval Staff of Pakistan, Admiral Naveed Ashraf. The discussions centered on mutual interests, regional maritime security, and potential avenues for enhanced naval cooperation between Bangladesh and Pakistan.

According to a statement by Pakistan Navy, the meeting highlighted several areas for potential collaboration, including training exchanges, mutual visits, and bilateral naval exercises. Admiral Naveed Ashraf outlined the Pakistan Navy’s initiatives aimed at ensuring maritime security and peace in the region, particularly through Regional Maritime Security Patrols. Lieutenant General Hassan expressed appreciation for the Pakistan Navy’s efforts in promoting regional maritime security.

The visit by Lieutenant General SM Kamrul Hassan is anticipated to strengthen and expand the defense ties between Bangladesh and Pakistan, fostering closer collaboration and more robust relations between their respective defense forces.
