Bangladesh and Pakistan Seek Stronger Military Ties During High-Level Visit

Islamabad: Lieutenant General SM Kamrul Hassan, the Principal Staff Officer of Bangladesh’s Armed Forces Division, held discussions with General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, Chairman of Pakistan’s Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee, during a visit to Pakistan. The meeting focused on enhancing bilateral defense cooperation and addressing mutual strategic interests.

According to a statement by Inter Services Public Relations, the two military leaders met at the Joint Staff Headquarters in Islamabad. They emphasized the importance of strengthening military ties between Bangladesh and Pakistan, aiming to shield their partnership from external influences.

The discussions highlighted the necessity for continued collaboration in efforts to promote regional peace, security, and stability. General Mirza expressed that both countries share a common vision for a secure future, which is reinforced by strong defense cooperation.

Lieutenant General Kamrul Hassan acknowledged the professionalism of the Pakistan Armed Forces, commending their efforts in combating terrorism and recognizing the dedication and resilience demonstrated by their personnel.
