Ban on slaughter of bovines on Eid-ul-Azha in IIOJK denounced

Muzaffarabad, July 16, 2021 (PPI-OT):The Pasban-e-Hurriyat Jammu and Kashmir and Jammu and Kashmir Mass Movement (JKMM) have condemned the Indian government for imposing ban on the slaughter of bovines in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir during forthcoming Eid-ul-Azha. According to Kashmir Media Service, the Chairman of Pasban-e-Hurriyat Jammu and Kashmir, Uzair Ahmad Ghazali, in a statement issued in Muzaffarabad said that the Indian government should refrain from interfering in the religious obligations of Muslims in India and particularly in IIOJK.

He termed ban on the slaughter of bovines in the occupied territory another worst example of usurpation on the religious rights of Muslims and maintained that Muslims would not accept the ban.

He said that IIOJK is a Muslim-majority territory where followers of other religions are also free to practice their religious traditions. Apparently Indian acts are targeting the religious rights of Muslims in India and occupied Kashmir, he added. “Modi (Hindutva) mindset is deliberately violating the political, religious and social rights of Muslims,” Ghazali pointed out.

The JKMM Vice Chairman, Abdul Majeed Mir, in a statement issued in Islamabad expressed concern over the move of the Modi-led fascist Indian government. He said that the Modi regime was promoting Hindutwa ideology in the territory by preventing Muslims from slaughtering bovines on their holy festival, Eid-ul-Azha. He appealed to the Muslim Ummah to take notice of the malicious measures by the Indian government in the occupied territory.
