Quetta: In a significant move towards bolstering women’s rights, the Women’s Parliamentary Caucus of the Provincial Assembly convened under Deputy Speaker Ghazala Gola to revise its operational guidelines and set a strategic plan for the upcoming year. This assembly session focused on refining member roles and enhancing the effectiveness of the Caucus’s work across party lines.
According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Balochistan, Chairperson Gola emphasized the importance of transcending party differences to prioritize women’s welfare and empowerment within the province. The meeting, which included members like Shahida Rauf, Kulsoom Niaz Baloch, Hadiya Nawaz, Rahila Hameed Khan Durrani, and Safia Fazal, resulted in a unanimous decision to organize the Caucus’s activities more systematically through an annual calendar based on strategic objectives.
The Caucus aims to introduce formal legislation specifically targeting the empowerment of women, with future bills concerning women’s issues to be thoroughly deliberated within this forum. The assembly’s resolve to act as a beacon for justice and rights advocacy was firmly reiterated, committing to make Balochistan a leading example of female empowerment in the region.
