Quetta: Balochistan is set to enhance its cultural and tourism appeal through a series of events aimed at promoting its rich historical heritage and diverse local cultures. This decision was made during a departmental review meeting led by Chief Minister Mir Sarfaraz Bugti, focusing on the activities of the Department of Culture, Tourism, and Archeology.
According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Balochistan, the meeting featured detailed briefings on the administrative functions and various divisions of the department, including discussions on the utilization of Grant-in-Aid funds designated for tourism-related activities. Key highlights from the session include plans to host a cultural festival in Ziarat by the end of this month and an Azadi Mushaira in August, along with the Balochistan Literature Festival scheduled for early next year.
Chief Minister Bugti emphasized the importance of using social media to enhance the visibility of these events and directed the development of a revised mechanism to ensure effective use of the allocated funds. He also stressed the need for special measures to develop and promote the local languages of the province, committing support to language academies that are actively preserving and enriching regional linguistic heritage.
