Balochistan Task Force Formed to Monitor UN Sustainable Development Goals

Quetta: In a significant development aimed at bolstering the implementation and progress of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Balochistan, Dr. Rababa Khan Bilidi, Advisor to the Chief Minister for Women Development Department, has been appointed as the convener of a newly established provincial task force. This task force is set to include key political figures and stakeholders from the provincial assembly to ensure a collaborative approach towards achieving these global objectives.

According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Balochistan, the decision to form this task force was announced through a notification by the Secretary of the Balochistan Assembly. Chaired by Dr. Rababa Khan Bilidi, the group will feature a diverse range of members including Provincial Ministers Noor Muhammad Damar, Mir Zahoor Ahmad Bilidi, Mir Muhammad Sadiq Imrani, Salim Ahmad Khosa, Bakht Muhammad Kakar, Sardarzada Faisal Khan Jamali, Rahila Hameed Khan Durrani, and Parliamentary Secretary Haji Muhammad Khan Lahri. Additionally, the task force will incorporate the leader of the opposition Nawabzada Zareen Khan Magsi, opposition members Mir Younis Aziz Zehri, Ghulam Dastgir Badini, Muhammad Nawaz, Rehmat Saleh Baloch, Prince Agha Umar Ahmedzai, Ravi Kumar, and Shahida Rauf.

This initiative, supervised by Speaker Provincial Assembly Abdul Khaliq Achakzai under the guidance of the United Nations, aims to facilitate mutual consultation and consensus among all parliamentary parties. The inclusion of such a broad spectrum of political representatives is intended to ensure that steps are taken within a stipulated time frame to review and enhance the implementation of the SDGs in line with global commitments.
