Balochistan Prioritizes Infrastructure Expansion Amid Funding Challenges

Quetta, Mir Salim Ahmad Khosa, the Provincial Minister of Communications and Construction, underscored the government’s commitment to expanding and improving Balochistan’s infrastructure as a top priority, despite significant challenges related to funding and project delays.

According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Punjab, during a departmental briefing led by Secretary Communications and Construction Qamber Dashti, it was revealed that Balochistan currently has fifty thousand kilometers of roads, with twenty-four thousand kilometers paved and the remainder under development. Dashti outlined the difficulties faced by the department, particularly slow funding, which has impeded the timely completion of these critical infrastructure projects.

In his address, Minister Khosa emphasized the importance of maintaining high standards and transparency in all projects, declaring strong infrastructure as essential for the development of the province. He announced the formation of a top monitoring team to oversee the completion of development projects and ensure that no shortcomings in execution are tolerated.

Khosa also issued a stern directive against negligence, stating that any officials found lacking in their duties would face departmental action. He highlighted the government’s resolve to overcome obstacles to development, ensuring that the benefits reach the people of Balochistan.
