Balochistan Plans to Enhance Women’s Crisis Centers for Better Protection and Support

Quetta: Adviser to the Chief Minister of Balochistan for Women Development Department, Dr. Rababa Khan Bilidi, announced plans to activate the Benazir Bhutto Women Crisis Center in Quetta and to establish additional centers across the province. The aim is to provide immediate protection and support to women facing emergencies.

According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Balochistan, Dr. Bilidi expressed these plans during her visit to the Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Women’s Crisis Center in Quetta. She highlighted the necessity of making the center in Quetta an ideal facility for women’s protection and the establishment of more such centers at various levels throughout Balochistan to ensure widespread accessibility.

The Advisor was briefed on the current operations of the Benazir Women’s Crisis Center during her visit. She addressed the challenges hindering the center’s effectiveness, including issues related to management and finances, and outlined plans for legislative and non-governmental support to enhance the services provided. The visit concluded with the manager of the crisis center, Rubina Zahri, presenting a traditional shawl to Dr. Bilidi as a gesture of appreciation.
