Balochistan Minister Emphasizes High Standards and Transparency in Development Projects

Quetta, Provincial Minister of Communications and Construction Mir Salim Ahmad Khosa stated that development projects are a top priority for the Balochistan government. The minister spoke during a departmental briefing on the current status of projects in the province, emphasizing that high standards and transparency must be maintained.

According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Balochistan, Khosa outlined the province’s infrastructure challenges, highlighting that there are currently 50,000 kilometers of roads, with only 24,000 kilometers paved. Slow funding has caused delays in project completion, which has led to significant difficulties for the Department of Communications and Construction.

The briefing, given by Secretary Communications and Construction Qamber Dashti, was attended by high-ranking officials, including Additional Secretary Communications and Constructions Amir Hamza Zehri, Chief Engineer Design Dr. Sajjad Baloch, and Zonal Chief Engineer Officers. The Secretary detailed that progress on development projects is reviewed every three months, with reports forwarded to the department to ensure accountability and efficiency.

Addressing the meeting, Khosa stressed that strong infrastructure is vital for Balochistan’s development, and all projects must be completed with the highest quality. He indicated that the government would form an excellent monitoring team to ensure the timely completion of projects, adding that negligence would not be tolerated.

Khosa gave strict instructions regarding the standards for development projects, emphasizing that negligent officers would face departmental action. He remarked that there is no room for mercy when it comes to the development and prosperity of the province, and that hard work is required to overcome any obstacles.

The minister also noted that a solid strategy would be developed to ensure the best teams are selected for project completion and to address any issues promptly. Khosa assured that the government’s commitment to development would benefit the people of Balochistan in the long run.
