Balochistan Minister Calls for Unity Against Terrorism, Invites Youth to Dialogue

Quetta: Balochistan Interior Minister Mir Ziaullah Longo strongly condemned terrorist organizations for targeting civilians in Balochistan, labeling such acts as counterproductive to the region’s quest for freedom and development.

According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Balochistan, Minister Longo expressed deep concerns over the violence inflicted on innocent people by groups accusing them of being informers to serve foreign interests. He criticized these organizations for misleading Baloch youth and compromising the region’s progress.

Longo argued that the true battle for liberation does not involve harming the innocent, questioning the legitimacy of such violence in the name of freedom. He urged the youth of Balochistan to decide the future they want for their region—whether one of progress and development or of regression under terrorist influence. The Minister emphasized that the government is open to dialogue and actively invites disenchanted groups to negotiate within the framework of Pakistani law, contrary to terrorist organizations that reject peace talks in favor of enforcing their agendas through violence.

Highlighting the challenges posed by external influences, particularly from India, Longo accused foreign entities of destabilizing Balochistan through local militant groups like the Taliban Khawarij, BLA, and “RA.” He detailed the extensive losses inflicted by these groups, including over 70,000 lives, underscoring the state’s commitment to thwarting their efforts to sow discord.

In his call to action, Longo implored the Baloch youth to contribute positively towards the state’s development instead of succumbing to destructive influences. He concluded by affirming the government’s readiness for peace talks, provided they align with national interests, and reiterated his invitation to all parties to participate in dialogue to achieve lasting peace in the region.
