Quetta, Secretary Health Balochistan, Abdullah Khan, has issued directives to establish a dedicated ward for the treatment of fistula disease at MS Bolan Medical Complex Hospital and Executive Director Sheikh Zayed Hospital in Quetta. This initiative addresses the critical needs of women suffering from fistula, a condition that often leads to social isolation.
According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Balochistan, Secretary Khan emphasized the urgent need to tackle the challenges faced by thousands of women with fistula in Balochistan. He highlighted that these women are often ostracized from society due to their condition, leading to a life of isolation. In response, he has called for the establishment of specialized treatment facilities to provide much-needed medical care.
The Health Secretary underscored the importance of raising awareness about maternal health to prevent fistula across the province. He urged the use of all available resources to combat this preventable and treatable condition. The establishment of the fistula treatment ward is a significant step towards improving healthcare services for women and addressing a health issue that has long been neglected.
