Balochistan Health Minister Prioritizes Modern Medical Facilities for Remote Areas

Quetta: Provincial Health Minister Bakht Muhammad Kakar emphasized the critical need for modernizing health facilities in remote areas of Balochistan. Announcing significant upgrades, Minister Kakar detailed plans to equip tehsil, district, and division-level government hospitals with state-of-the-art medical equipment and intensive care units, marking a first for many of these locations.

According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Balochistan, the announcement was made during a meeting of the COVID-19 Response and Natural Disaster Program. Project Director Dr. Naqeebullah Khan outlined the recent installations of modern medical equipment across 32 district and tehsil headquarters hospitals, including ventilators, which are essential for improving medical response during emergencies and ongoing health crises.

The briefing highlighted the provincial government’s commitment, under the vision of Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti, to revolutionize health services. Health Secretary Saleh Baloch and Additional Secretary Muhammad Arif Achakzai also reiterated the importance of an active and effective health system, noting that training for 253 health department personnel has been completed with plans to expand training to more staff to operate the new equipment effectively.
