Balochistan Health Minister Outlines Reforms and Anti-Corruption Measures in Health Sector

Quetta: In a significant move to boost the healthcare services in Balochistan, Provincial Health Minister Bakht Muhammad Kakar, after assuming office, convened a major meeting at the Balochistan Health Secretariat with top health officials and hospital administrators. The meeting focused on departmental reforms, anti-corruption measures, and the enhancement of health facilities across the province.

According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Balochistan, the gathering was well-attended by key figures including Dr. Amin Khan Mandukhel, Director General Health Balochistan; Prof. Raz Muhammad Kakar, Principal BMC College; and Dr. Arbab Kamran Kasi, MD Trauma Center, among others. The Minister emphasized the provincial government’s commitment to improving healthcare services as directed by Chief Minister Balochistan Mir Sarfraz Bugti.

Minister Kakar outlined the government’s strategy which includes serious steps to utilize all available resources for upgrading medical and general facilities in hospitals. He highlighted that tertiary care hospitals in the provincial capital serve not just the residents of Quetta but the entire region of Balochistan. He stressed the importance of timely and superior treatment availability to the common populace.

Further, Minister Kakar issued directives aimed at immediate improvements in the cleanliness of hospitals and mandated full attendance of all health staff. He also called for written reports on the challenges faced by hospitals to ensure continuous evaluation and optimal use of resources.

In his address, Kakar was firm on the stance against corruption within the health department, declaring that the government will not tolerate corruption at any level and will not compromise on the quality of service delivery. These statements align with the provincial government’s objective to achieve set goals for enhancing the health sector in Balochistan.
