Balochistan Food Authority Intensifies Crackdown on Unhealthy Food Production

Quetta, In an aggressive campaign to improve food safety standards across the province, the Balochistan Food Authority (BFA) has implemented a series of crackdowns on the production and sale of unhealthy food, resulting in numerous fines and enforcement actions.

According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Balochistan, the BFA’s recent operations have led to penalties being imposed on several food centers and factories for various health violations. These actions included fining 13 establishments in Quetta, 2 in Pasni, 7 in Qila Saifullah, and 5 in Dera Murad Jamali, which included three ice factories. Notably, inspectors discovered a large quantity of fake and harmful cold drinks at a distribution agency on Sabzal Road in Quetta. Further actions targeted three salt and spice processing units, renowned restaurants, milk shops, and other food sellers for failing to meet established food safety standards.

The BFA’s rigorous inspections are part of a broader effort to ensure public health and safety by enforcing strict food safety regulations and sanitation standards throughout the region. These ongoing operations highlight the authority’s commitment to curbing the distribution and sale of substandard food products.
