Quetta, Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti chaired a crucial budget review meeting for the next financial year at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat. The session was attended by Secretary Balochistan Shakeel Qadir Khan, Additional Chief Secretary Development Hafiz Abdul Basit, Secretary Finance Babar Khan, and other key officials.
According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Balochistan, during the meeting, CM Bugti highlighted education, health, and improved service delivery as the provincial government’s priorities for the upcoming budget. He directed the completion of the Detailed Accounts Check (DAC) of all development projects within a month and stressed the reallocation of funds from unprofitable ongoing projects to those that offer broader public benefits.
Bugti also advocated for a major overhaul of the Provincial Development Plan (PSDP) to better meet public needs and ensure that budgetary benefits reach the populace rather than serving individual projects or personal preferences. Additionally, he called for the conversion of unnecessary government posts into crucial roles and crafting a sustainable strategy to curtail escalating non-development expenditures, aiming for a budget that aligns with the genuine needs of Balochistan’s residents.
