Quetta: In a collaborative effort to address the aftermath of the devastating floods in Balochistan, Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti met with Federal Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal to discuss ongoing rehabilitation projects. The meeting focused on evaluating progress and expediting recovery in the flood-stricken areas, emphasizing the essential role of federal support.
According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Balochistan, during the meeting, CM Bugti expressed gratitude towards the federal government for providing grants aimed at rehabilitation activities. The discussions also led to the decision to include the Chief Secretary and Additional Chief Secretary Development of Balochistan in a committee to monitor the progress of these initiatives. On CM Bugti’s request, Minister Ahsan Iqbal instructed authorities to convene a review meeting soon regarding the Kachchi Canal project, which is pivotal for enhancing provincial communication links and overall development.
The meeting was attended by key provincial officials including Hafiz Abdul Basit, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister, Imran Zirkoon, Finance Secretary, and Babar Khan, among others, who participated through video link. The collective efforts underscore the urgency and commitment at both provincial and federal levels to rehabilitate and rebuild the flood-affected regions of Balochistan.
