Balochistan Chief Minister Meets with University Teachers to Address Academic Challenges

Quetta: In a concerted effort to address the challenges faced by public sector universities in Balochistan, Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti convened a meeting with university teachers to discuss their concerns and the ongoing issues impacting higher education in the province. The meeting, which took place on Monday, was attended by provincial ministers and members of the Balochistan Assembly, underscoring the government’s commitment to resolving the academic and financial hurdles confronting educational institutions.

According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Balochistan, the meeting included discussions on a range of topics, with a focus on the financial and administrative difficulties faced by universities. Chief Minister Bugti expressed the provincial government’s dedication to ensuring that no employee, including teachers, faces issues with salaries or working conditions. He emphasized that teachers are a respected segment of society and highlighted the government’s intent to find permanent solutions to their challenges.

During the meeting, which was also attended by Ministers Mir Sadiq Imrani, Raheela Hameed Khan Durrani, Mir Shoaib Nausherwani, and Member of the Balochistan Assembly Khairjan Baloch, it was decided that each university’s performance and difficulties would be reviewed individually. The Chief Minister pledged that strategic improvements would be formulated based on comprehensive suggestions from all stakeholders.

The Chief Minister also touched on the global trend towards financial self-sufficiency in higher education, suggesting that universities in Balochistan should adopt modern operational models to ensure they do not face financial or academic hardships in the future.
