Quetta: Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti inaugurated the Chief Minister Youth Skills Development Program, aimed at training and sending skilled youth from Balochistan abroad for employment opportunities. The program is part of a broader effort to combat unemployment in the province.
According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Balochistan, Chief Minister Bugti described the initiative as a fulfillment of a promise he made during his first speech in the provincial assembly. He acknowledged the challenges faced in realizing this vision but emphasized that, with hard work and dedication, the project has now become a reality. The first group of trained youth will go abroad this year.
The program, supported by key figures including Labor and Manpower Adviser Sardar Ghulam Rasool Imrani and Chief Secretary Shakeel Qadir Khan, ensures that participants from every district of Balochistan will be selected on merit. Bugti stressed the importance of these young workers representing Pakistan with integrity and professionalism abroad.
The provincial government, Bugti added, is investing in youth development by reallocating resources from other projects, with plans for long-term benefits. He also highlighted additional initiatives under the Benazir Bhutto Scholarship Program, which provides opportunities for minorities, the transgender community, and children of civilian martyrs.
Addressing recent concerns over governance and misinformation, the Chief Minister affirmed that there will be no tolerance for job corruption in the province, promising transparency and accountability in all programs. Shields were awarded to representatives of companies involved in the program, with special recognition given to Labor Adviser Sardar Ghulam Rasool Imrani.
