Pishin: In a significant move toward sustainable agriculture, Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti has launched a project to transition agricultural tubewells to solar energy in Pishin District. The initiative aims to resolve longstanding electricity issues for local landowners and is expected to boost crop production throughout the region.
According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Balochistan, the inauguration ceremony was attended by a host of dignitaries, including Provincial Minister for Agriculture Haji Ali Madad Jatak, various members of the provincial assembly, and key officials from the agriculture and energy sectors. Chief Minister Bugti expressed satisfaction with the project’s potential to bring revolutionary changes to local farming practices by increasing crop yields and ensuring transparent financial transactions directly into the bank accounts of landowners, thereby eliminating middlemen.
The project is part of a broader strategy to address infrastructure needs in Pishin, with additional plans to reopen closed schools in the district and recruit teachers based on merit and transparency. The event underscored the provincial government’s commitment to improving both the agricultural and educational landscape in Balochistan, reflecting Chief Minister Bugti’s dedication to advancing significant projects within the province.
