Islamabad: The Speaker of the Provincial Assembly of Balochistan, Captain (R) Abdul Khaliq Khan Achakzai, met with the Speaker of the National Assembly, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, in Islamabad on Monday to discuss strengthening interparliamentary cooperation. The meeting aimed at addressing Pakistan’s political and economic challenges through enhanced collaboration between the National and Balochistan Assemblies.
During the meeting, both leaders exchanged views on enhancing institutional collaboration. Sardar Ayaz Sadiq emphasized the importance of sustained coordination among federal and provincial legislatures in strengthening democratic governance and effective policymaking.
He stressed Balochistan’s strategic role in the country’s development and reiterated the necessity of active provincial assembly participation for inclusive progress. Sadiq assured Achakzai of the National Assembly’s support in reinforcing the Balochistan Assembly’s effectiveness, highlighting initiatives for legislative training, research, and procedural development.
Captain (R) Abdul Khaliq Khan Achakzai emphasized the need for regular interaction between lawmakers from different assemblies to share best practices and promote mutual understanding. He noted that such engagement is crucial for building national unity and ensuring a coordinated governance approach.
