Balochistan Advisor and UNFPA Head Forge Partnership for Women’s Empowerment Initiatives

Quetta, In a significant move to bolster women’s empowerment in Balochistan, Dr. Rubaba Khan Buledi, Advisor to the Chief Minister on Women Development, met with Dr. Sarmad Khan, Provincial Head of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), to discuss new initiatives targeting gender equality and support for women and girls in the region.

According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Balochistan, the meeting focused on several key initiatives, including the creation of a Gender-Based Violence (GBV) helpline to provide immediate assistance to victims, the establishment of women and girl-friendly spaces across various districts to ensure safe and inclusive environments, and the launch of skill-based education programs designed to empower women and engage youth in productive activities.

Dr. Buledi stressed the importance of collaboration in tackling the complex challenges facing women and girls in Balochistan, while Dr. Khan commended the Women Development Department’s proactive efforts and confirmed UNFPA’s continued support for these empowering projects.
