Quetta: In a pivotal meeting at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat, a delegation from the Landlord Action Committee discussed the ongoing transition of agricultural tube wells to solar energy in Balochistan with Chief Minister Mir Sarfaraz Bugti. This initiative is part of a broader effort to address the energy needs of the agricultural sector and enhance sustainable practices within the province.
According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Balochistan, the meeting included Provincial Ministers Mir Shoaib Noshirwani, Ali Madad Jatak, Parliamentary Secretaries Mir Liaqat Lahri, Barkat Ali Rand, Abdul Majeed Badini, Chief Secretary Balochistan Shakeel Qadir Khan, Secretary Energy Bashir Khan Bazai, and Secretary Agriculture Daud Khan Bazai. The delegation lauded the Chief Minister and his cabinet for their leadership in implementing this transformative project, which not only aims to alleviate the energy crisis but also promotes agricultural development across Balochistan.
Chief Minister Bugti outlined the government’s commitment to resolving the longstanding issues faced by landowners through the solar project. He announced plans to ensure six hours of electricity supply to the landlords during the transition period and to work closely with them to implement the project effectively. Furthermore, Bugti mentioned upcoming legislation aimed at eliminating illegal electrical connections, with a new act to be approved by the Balochistan Provincial Assembly to prevent unauthorized hook-ups in the future.
The meeting also recognized the significant role of Chief Secretary Shakeel Qadir Khan in the project’s execution, emphasizing the collective effort required to complete this vital initiative successfully.
