Lahore, May 28, 2022 (PPI-OT): Punjab Police in an immediate operation arrested six accused involved in the incident of misbehaving and harassment of women in Bahawalnagar. According to details, a tragic incident took place in Haroonabad area of Bahawalnagar where shopkeepers insulted and harassed three women on suspicion of theft. Punjab Chief Minister Hamza Shahbaz Sharif and IG Punjab Rao Sardar Ali Khan took notice of the incident and directed immediate arrest of the accused.
On the orders of IG Punjab Rao Sardar Ali Khan, DPO Bahawalnagar Muhammad Faisal Gulzar visited Haroonabad and met the affected women. DPO Bahawalnagar inquired into the incident and assured the women of all possible cooperation. Bahawalnagar police took immediate action and arrested six accused of harassing women.
The arrested accused include Mohammad Hasnain, Bilawal Aslam, Ghulam Hussain, Abdul Ghafoor, Saqib Raza and Muhammad Aqib. DPO Bahawalnagar Faisal Gulzar said that after the registration of the case, every aspect of the incident was being investigated. He said that the accused of violence and harassment against women do not deserve any concession and all the accused would be punished.
