Azerbaijani Speaker Arrives in Islamabad for Trilateral Meeting

Islamabad: Speaker of the Milli Majlis of Azerbaijan, Madame Sahiba Gafarova, has landed in Islamabad to attend the Third Trilateral Speakers’ Meeting. Her arrival was marked by a warm reception from the Speaker of Pakistan’s National Assembly, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, at Islamabad International Airport.

A ceremony was organized at the airport where Madame Gafarova was welcomed with a bouquet of flowers, symbolizing the cordial relations between the two nations. Following her arrival, a meeting was held between Speaker Sadiq and Madame Gafarova.

During the meeting, Speaker Sadiq expressed his delight at Madame Gafarova’s participation in the event. He emphasized the strong ties of fraternity and friendship between Pakistan and Azerbaijan, noting that the people of Pakistan view Azerbaijanis as brothers.

Speaker Sadiq highlighted the mutual support shared by Pakistan and Azerbaijan on regional and international platforms, which he said is indicative of the longstanding trust and relations between the two countries.

In response, Madame Gafarova conveyed her appreciation for the hospitality extended by the Pakistani Parliament and its people. She underscored the relations between Azerbaijan and Pakistan as being rooted in mutual respect and brotherhood.

Madame Gafarova described her visit to Pakistan as a significant and honorable occasion. She reiterated the sentiment that Azerbaijan regards Pakistan as a sincere friend and brother, with their bilateral relations built on trust, cooperation, and respect.
