Islamabad: Pakistan has achieved another significant milestone in boosting investment and business activities with the inauguration of the Azerbaijan-Pakistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Islamabad. Federal Minister for Board of Investment, Privatization, and Communications Abdul Aleem Khan, along with the Ambassador of Azerbaijan Khazar Farhadov, graced the occasion as the Chief Guests.
According to a statement by Press Information Department, Federal Minister Abdul Aleem Khan emphasized the importance of the chamber’s establishment in addressing investment matters on a single platform. He highlighted the potential for increased bilateral cooperation between the two countries. The minister noted that sustainable development depends on strategic relationships and cooperation, and that limitless opportunities await as a new era of trade and innovation is set to begin.
Abdul Aleem Khan shared his experiences of visiting Baku, stressing the deep-rooted relationship between Pakistan and Azerbaijan. He assured that Pakistan would provide support to Azerbaijan’s business community and collaborate on initiatives to boost exports of Pakistani products.
Ambassador Khazar Farhadov expressed his sentiments towards Abdul Aleem Khan, noting the steps taken to enhance bilateral cooperation. He expressed confidence in the chamber’s role in increasing the existing $2 billion business volume between Azerbaijan and Pakistan.
President of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Atif Ikram Sheikh, and Chairman of the Azerbaijan-Pakistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Ahsan Zafar Bakhtawari, also addressed the ceremony. They highlighted the chamber’s role in introducing Pakistani products to Central Asian countries and welcoming business groups to Pakistan.
The ceremony concluded with Federal Minister Abdul Aleem Khan cutting a ceremonial cake, congratulating Ambassador Khazar Farhadov and attendees on this significant achievement.
