Islamabad: The diplomatic engagements between Azerbaijan and Pakistan are yielding tangible outcomes as the two nations prepare to strengthen their economic and trade relations. Azerbaijan’s Ambassador to Pakistan, Khazar Farhadov, met with Abdul Aleem Khan, Pakistan’s Federal Minister for Privatization, Board of Investment, and Communications, to discuss joint projects and trade partnerships. The meeting underscored the intention to initiate practical collaboration in the near future.
According to Press Information Department, the discussions focused on converting mutual relations into business opportunities and bilateral trade. Minister Khan extended an invitation to Azerbaijani companies to invest in Pakistan, particularly in infrastructure projects such as the M6 and M9 motorways. These projects connect Karachi to Sukkur and Sukkur to Hyderabad, offering significant opportunities for foreign investors.
Ambassador Farhadov expressed Azerbaijan’s commitment to working with Pakistan on investment ventures and joint projects. The meeting also highlighted the potential for trilateral cooperation involving Pakistan, Azerbaijan, and Türkiye. In a bid to ensure effective coordination, the Board of Investment will appoint a focal person to liaise closely with the Azerbaijani government.
