BAKU, Azerbaijan’s political and military leadership has committed to elevating their collaboration with Pakistan, specifically emphasizing the military relationship between the two nations.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting reports that this consensus was reached during a series of meetings that the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir held with key Azerbaijani officials, including the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, the Defense Minister, the 1st Deputy Minister, the Chief of General Staff, and the Commander of the Azerbaijan Air Force. These discussions took place in Baku, as part of the COAS’s official visit to the Republic of Azerbaijan, primarily aimed at amplifying defense and military cooperation between the two countries.
During these interactions, the COAS stressed the need to boost cooperation in defense and training domains. He also commended the operational readiness and high morale of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces. As part of his visit to the General Staff Headquarters, the COAS received a warm reception and was honoured with a Guard of Honour. Furthermore, General Munir paid his respects at the Alley of Martyrs in Baku by laying a floral wreath.
