Azeempura Flyover to Ease Karachi Traffic as KMC Engineers Lead Construction

Karachi: The Azeempura Flyover, slated to open on June 15, is expected to alleviate significant traffic congestion in Karachi, according to a spokesperson for the city’s mayor. The project, constructed under the supervision of Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) engineers, showcases their technical prowess and dedication, emphasized Karamullah Waqasi, the Pakistan People’s Party Parliamentary Leader in KMC.

According to Karachi Metropolitan Corporation, Waqasi highlighted that the flyover’s completion will signal a new chapter in Karachi’s urban infrastructure development. He praised the Sindh government’s commitment, led by Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, to timely finish major projects like the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) system. Shah’s administration has set a strict 90-day timeline for completing the BRT project, underlining a commitment to improving the city’s infrastructure.

Waqasi dismissed claims that development efforts are focused on selective areas, asserting that multiple projects are underway across Karachi. These include road construction, flyovers, water system improvements, and more, all aimed at enhancing the city’s infrastructure under the Pakistan People’s Party’s leadership.

In a critique of Jamaat-e-Islami, Waqasi accused the party of corruption and mismanagement in the towns it administers, while failing to initiate significant development projects. He contrasted this with the Pakistan People’s Party’s achievements, such as the impactful Shahrah-e-Bhutto project, and reiterated the party’s commitment to large-scale urban development and public welfare.
