‘Azadi Float’ Embarks on Journey from Rawalpindi, Celebrates National Unity in Gujar Khan

Lahore: The ‘Azadi Float,’ a mobile representation of national unity featuring models of significant buildings from all provinces, commenced its journey from Rawalpindi and made a celebrated stopover in Gujar Khan on Sunday.

According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Punjab announcement issued on 11 August 2024, the float was warmly received by a large crowd at the Gujar Khan general bus stand, marking its first stop with a vibrant ceremony that included drum beats, national songs, and a horse dance. The event, attended by former MNA Raja Javed Ikhlas and other dignitaries, underscored a message of love and brotherhood as it moved through Punjab.

Raja Javed Ikhlas, speaking as the chief guest, lauded Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz’s leadership, stating that the float symbolized national unity and the enduring contributions of the Muslim League (N) to Pakistan’s formation and progress. Amidst current challenges like inflation and rising electricity prices, Ikhlas expressed confidence in the PML-N’s capability to steer the country through its difficulties, drawing on the party’s historical resilience.

The ceremony also featured performances by local folk singers, enriching the festive atmosphere as the community celebrated the country’s heritage and unity. The ‘Azadi Float’ continues its journey, aiming to spread a message of unity and resilience across the nation.
