Azad Kashmir Prime Minister Vows Comprehensive Worker Welfare Measures on May Day


Muzaffarabad, In a special message on May Day, Azad Kashmir Prime Minister Chaudhry Anwar Haq pledged to adopt all necessary measures to ensure the welfare of workers in line with Islamic principles, the constitution, and international standards. The Prime Minister emphasized the profound respect Islam holds for labor and reiterated commitments to improve working conditions and enforce labor laws strictly.



According to Press Information Department – Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Prime Minister Haq quoted the Prophet Muhammad, emphasizing the prompt payment of wages to workers. He also commemorated the historical labor movement initiated by the workers of Chicago, underscoring its significance in the global labor rights movement today.



The Prime Minister detailed his government’s plans to enhance health and education sectors, which he said would also benefit the working class. Furthermore, he assured that any exploitation of workers in Azad Kashmir would not be tolerated, with strict actions promised against any violations reported. The government plans to undertake legal and administrative reforms to secure minimum wages, healthy working environments, and adequate health facilities for workers.
