Muzaffarabad, On International Human Rights Day, Chaudhry Muhammad Akmal Sargala, the Forest Minister of Azad Kashmir, voiced a strong protest against the ongoing Israeli aggression and the Indian forces’ actions in Occupied Jammu and Kashmir. He emphasized the need for international attention to the human rights abuses in these regions and criticized the global community’s double standards on these issues.
According to Directorate General Public Relation – Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Minister Sargala highlighted the severe violations of basic human, political, social, and religious rights in Occupied Kashmir and Palestine by India and Israel. He stated that India has martyred over 100,000 citizens in Occupied Jammu and Kashmir for demanding freedom, while Israel has martyred more than 18,000 civilians in Gaza. The Minister underscored that peace in the Middle East and South Asia depends on addressing the plight of people in these regions, including the right to a referendum for those in Occupied Kashmir.
Sargala’s statement shed light on various human rights violations, including the discovery of 10,000 anonymous graves in Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the arrest and transfer of Hurriyat Conference leaders to Indian jails, and the enactment of black laws. He described the situation as marked by state terrorism, lockdowns, media restrictions, and the arrests of innocent freedom fighters.
The Minister criticized the lack of implementation of human rights laws in areas where they conflict with the interests of world powers. He asserted that the Pakistani nation and its political forces stand united against India’s ambitions and in solidarity with the people of Occupied Kashmir. He called on the United Nations to play an active role in resolving the Kashmir conflict in line with its Security Council resolutions, international norms, and the wishes of the Kashmiri people.
