Azad Jammu and Kashmir Prime Minister Opens Negotiations Amid Protests


Muzaffarabad, Azad Jammu and Kashmir Prime Minister Chaudhry Anwar Haq has invited the Public Action Committee to negotiations amid recent protests, signaling a willingness to address public concerns through dialogue rather than force. The Prime Minister emphasized his openness to dialogue and announced plans to alleviate public strain by reallocating parts of the development budget.



According to Press Information Department – Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Prime Minister Haq spoke at the Jammu Kashmir House in Islamabad, where he expressed his commitment to implementing agreements previously reached with the People’s Action Committee. Despite challenges, including the recent martyrdom of a police sub-inspector during protests, the Prime Minister praised the restraint shown by law enforcement and condemned the spread of misinformation through social media.



He underscored the importance of maintaining public order and refuted claims by Indian officials about fostering unrest in the region. The Prime Minister stressed that legislative actions would be deliberated in the Azad Kashmir Legislative Assembly, especially on pressing issues like electricity and flour subsidies.
